Packed well - both parts are placed in foam. Beautiful cardboard box, which arrived crumpled so you wont give it as a gift. There are two sharpening discs 400 and 1000. I dont know how long the sharpening discs will last. They are removable, but where can I get replacements? Magnetic holders hold the knife perfectly and even attract the sharpening disc - you dont have to worry about pressing it evenly. You can only sharpen knives whose width is greater than 23mm (this is the height of the holder - if the knife is narrower, the holder will protrude more and will not allow the sharpening disc to reach the blade, and you wont be able to raise the knife higher, because the magnet will not allow it. see the last photo with the knife) and less than 53mm (this is the height of the sharpening disc - it will not reach a flatter knifes blade on top). In general, sharpening several knives at the right angle is possible. I gave it 4 stars because the quality is not the best - the strips on the sides could be glued straighter. Now they are glued crookedly, even sticking out beyond the holder.

The whole purchase process was a breeze from search to delivery. The goods arrived promptly and beautifully packaged. The sharpener was as described, well made and designed almost like a display piece rather than just a tool. It is very easy to use once you get the feel for it and certainly gives a consistent angle to the sharpening process. The coarse disc takes the metal off quickly and needs to be stopped before reaching the true edge of the blade or you will be left with a serrated edge. The fine disc can be used at one step steeper angle for the cutting edge or just continue longer to hone the edge down. But in my opinion after using this you can't beat the traditional steel for final dressing of the knife. I will continue to use this sharpener for initial dressing of knives however for its help to a consistent angle.

Effective in sharpening knives, one must understand what the right angle is for each knife, I will probably also buy the discs with finer grain

I manually sharpen my kitchen knives. I was curious about this product (which I knew in the original version). I tried it. I am quite satisfied. For those who are not experienced with sharpening, they need to find the right angle for the knife. I recommend marking, with a marker, the edge of the knife. By slightly passing the tool at an intermediate angle, you will notice where some color has been removed; if it is missing on the bottom part, increase the angle, otherwise, you should decrease it. Good work.

Received today, left on porch step, courier didnt knock at all, very frustrating. Looks ok. I havent tried it as yet. The magnets are very strong. Has film over the magnets. Im not sure if thats supposed to be removed. I like that it has different angles on the centrepiece, which should cover all our knives, hopefully. Im unwell at present, and I will give it a tryout in a couple of days. Te from order to arrival was pretty quick compared to other orders Im waiting for.

Pleased with the quick shipping. Arrived here in Mexico at least a week early. The sharpener is very high quality and does a really nice job sharpening even everyday knives. Its a great product.

The compact size means that it is easy to store. A few drags of the stone and you get a super sharp edge. This product is an answer to my dream for a quality sharpener. The design is great, the quality is even better. Best thing for the kitchen ever.
