These are not the typical simple benchdogs. They are not only shaped to fit in the stop rails, but have a rubber top, too. This rubber top enables an additional function. You can put your material on top of them, so that elevate from the benchtop. This allows safe using of e.g. a track saw. When using the stop rails, the total height is higher than the rail itself, so not necessarily good for planing thin wood, but provide nice straight support.

Good product. Has only minimal play in 20mm MFT, which is of course necessary to be able to place it. Only the insert in the case could be better, it is rather impractical.
