Please can this adjustable power supply be used for a 19.5V, 3.9A laptop?

by ezryda, on 10 March 2020

The power you need is roughly 76W, however this power supply is 72W. yes@ H_U_L_U he is right. Even though they are very close, I do not recommend to use this unit for long term.

Can I use this for the TS100 Soldering Iron as its power supply? Thanks for the help!

by DagDerniT, on 27 November 2019

Yes, it should, as I am currently using it to power a Pinecil which is an open source clone of the Ts100 and uses the same tips and power supply.

Great adjustable power supply.I mainly use it to power my tin soldering iron and so I have no particular need for output voltage accuracy, although it looks very precise.

The power supply looks good. Good indication of the voltage. The difference is that the power supply measures its output, but there are cable losses up to a multimeter, that's fine. The power supply looks good. Shows the output voltage well. The difference is that the power supply measures the voltage at its output, but there is cable loss to the multimeter, this is normal.

Advantages: assembled qualitatively, no noise under load, sufficient length of cables, cheap. Disadvantages: the readings вольтметра inaccurate, the voltage regulation is rough, under a half load the voltage "floats away" (at once I agree, I took in no case for charging lithium). In general: I bought for the soldering iron TS100 (the soldering iron, by the way, did not arrive ))) and the adapter is quite suitable for this purpose.

Assembled qualitatively. The declared characteristics are met. Adjustment sector - about 270 degrees. The voltage regulator is combined with a switch. Without the load, the voltage shows fairly accurately. The first two photos show the voltage boundary values. The current can give out more than the declared - with a short-term load received 5.2A (long testing did not venture). With the load the voltage is slightly sagged (drop to 1V depending on the current value).

perfect, my ts-100 gets up to 270 °C due 4 sec, onboard voltmeter accuracy quite enough

Неплохой блок питания, есть индикация, на 3А не тянет, напруга соответствует, ок

Nice regulated power supply for the ts100. Changing the voltage with the knob has a big delay which makes it a little bit tricky to get the right voltage.

Performs as described. Can change voltage, very handy tool.

The display is accurate enough, a wide range of voltages for lots of different laptops/LED's/peripherals/etc. and backed up by 3Amps/72Watts of oooomph.
